Glenn LaVina Tyndall Cherye is SO right!!! They are VERY SPECIAL people and such good friends of ours!!! Do not think there is anything they cannot do and ALWAYS so pleasant doing whatever needs to be done. They are a real joy to be around!!! THANKS for all you do!

Martha Ann Stallings I always enjoy seeing their smiles and love at the store. Jewels!

Joyce P. Hendricks They have been a blessing to the store for many years. They are super wonderful people.

The 2019 Montgomery County Christmas Store was very successful because of the hundreds of volunteers that help throughout the year and during Store Week. Two of the Board members who donated countless hours are David and Merilyn Armstrong. They are in charge of Operations which means they do everything. You saw them in November on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am-4pm and the last full week when they have the Store open every day for donations and volunteers. But they do so much more-set up the Store for meetings, vacuum and dust, sort donations as they come in, change lightbulbs, keep all the parts running in the Store, organize and manage the office, answer the phone, train Volunteers, and the list just goes on and on and on. It is impossible to list all that they do but the Store runs efficiently because of all they do quietly behind the scenes. And they always do it with lovely, friendly smiles on their faces. As Vicky said, "Jack of all trades, these two are the invaluable glue that holds us all together." Thank you, David and Merilyn, for everything you do at the Christmas Store.

Passing of the baton in the New Year

By Vicky Ball

It’s never easy watching someone go, especially long-time leaders like Joan Cliff, leader of the food pantry department. Joan has commanded much respect and admiration during the course of her time at the Montgomery County Christmas Store. We will remember Joan's organization, hard work, and dedication to serving others.
Our deepest gratitude in accepting the baton (aka can of corn) to the next leader the the pantry, Vicky D. Welcome to the team Vicky D. You’ll bring renewed energy to the department and know you’re a super addition as head leader.

Photo taken December 7, the last day of the 2019 Christmas Store. Thank you, Joan, for your many years of volunteer service to the Christmas Store.
